It depends on what your allergy is to.
If you are are allergic to shellfish, then you will need to talk with your doctor before deciding to take glucosamine-chondroitin sulfate. Glucosamine is made from crab, lobster or shrimp shells; and chondroitin sulfate is made from animal cartilage, often shark cartilage.
Most of the time, people have allergies to the proteins in shellfish, not chitin, the carbohydrate from which glucosamine is extracted.

Check with your family doctor, call her and make sure that’s fine. Don’t want to harm yourself from taking something that is wrong to take, just something I felt I should warn you. Have a nice day and God Bless Sister!
